  • "Name that Vegetable" quiz with fabulous prizes
  • Q/A with Henry Brockman and other local organic farmers
  • An evening bonfire (weather permitting) with local music

You and your family are welcome any time after 2 p.m. The feast begins around 2:30, and the guided tours begin around 3:00.  Bonfire at dusk.

LOCATION/DIRECTIONS. This year, for the first time, the Potluck and Tour will be held about ½ mile from Henry’s Farm, on certified organic land owned by The Land Connection. Henry moved his production to the TLC land this year to give his bottomland acreage an opportunity to rest and rejuvenate for longer than his normal 2-years on and 2-years off cycle. Directions to the TLC farmland, location of this year’s Potluck and Tour, are below.

We will also have The Seasons on Henry's Farm for sale ($18 cash or check) and other Brockman family booklets ($3 each) for signing by Henry, Zoe, Terra, and/or Herman.

And we plan to have the 2013 calendars available for purchase as well . . . hot off the press!

Directions to Henry's Farm on The Land Connection farmland

From Chicago (give yourself 3 hours):

Take I55 south towards St. Louis. After driving about 120 miles, you'll go by a number of exits for Bloomington-Normal. Keep your eyes open for an exit off to the right for Peoria, Interstate 74 West. Take this exit and go about 15 miles until you come to the Goodfield Exit. Turn right at the end of the ramp, and then go straight through the stoplight (after it turns green). Go about 2 miles north (toward Eureka) and look for a small road (475N) to your right. (If you go into a curve and down a big hill, you've gone too far.) Turn right on to 475N, and go about ½ mile. Just after a small farmhouse and large falling-down barn, you’ll see a gravel lane. Turn here and follow the signs for parking.

From Bloomington or Peoria (or thereabouts -- give yourself about 30 minutes):

Take Interstate 74 or Hwy 150 to Goodfield.  Go North on 117, heading toward Eureka.  Two miles from Goodfield, you'll see a small road going east (only to the east).  It's easy to miss, so slow down when you've gone almost 2 miles and look for it dipping down to your right.  This is 475 North.  Turn here and go about 1/2 mile.  You'll see balloons marking the spot where you'll turn in.  Follow the signs all the way back to where you see cars parked, and come join us!
